World of Warcraft: Chronicle. Release dates for various official translations

Original English edition of World of Warcraft: Chronicle Vol.3 was published on March 27, 2018. First preview of the text appeared at amazon.com on March 5, 2018. Czech publisher Fantom Print posted a few artworks from the book as a preview on December 27, 2017. User of the Chinese social network weibo under the nickname worldofhammer posted a photo of the index page earlier in December.

Release dates for translations of Vol.3:

Korean - April 4

Spanish - May 24

French - May 30

Italian - June 8. Interestingly enough, the title “Chronicle” was translated as “History” ("La storia") in this version. Perhaps, it was done to avoid confusion with the short stories anthology “The Ideals”, which was previously translated as “the Chronicles” ("Cronache").

German - June 25

Simplified Chinese (for China) - the second half of July

Russian - Autumn 2018. Russian edition is called "Chronicle. The encyclopedia" ("Энциклопедия") instead of simply the "Chronicle".

Czech - the second half of 2018. None of Battle.net 2.0 games that operate on the Battle.net app are translated to Czech language. Despite this, a lot of Warcraft books were officially translated to this language. Warcraft 3 also has an official Czech translation.

Traditional Chinese (for Taiwan) - this year. The first volume was published only on February 13, 2018; but the second one was already out on June 20.

Portuguese - unknown. Only the first volume of the Chronicle series was published in Portuguese. Some of the Warcraft novels are also translated to this language. Perhaps, the publishing house LeYa simply wasn’t satisfied with the book’s sales, considering that it’s the only Warcraft book published by them.

Mexican Spanish - unknown. Only the first volume of this series was published in Mexican Spanish. This case might be similar to the previous one, since Vol. 1 is the only Warcraft book published by Editorial Kamite. Another possible reason for this apparent cancellation is the existence of edition in traditional Spanish.

Polish - unknown. None of the Chronicle volumes were published in Polish. WoW is the only Blizzard game from the Battle.net app that didn’t receive an official Polish translation. Perhaps, that’s why most of the novels and the Chronicle series as a whole weren’t published in this language. Back in the day, Warcraft 3 did get an official translation to Polish.
